double denim

shirt: factory // jeans: ally // crop: glassons // watch: sportsgirl // glasses: unknown // shoes: converse
Since past fashion trends seem to be slowly creeping back into today's clothing (which I am LOVING), I thought I'd travel back to the 90's with you all by creating a fashion post! I mean, it's been a while since I've taken some photos of me in clothing for you all, so I thought why not?
I decided to take a bit of a risky fashion step and tackle the somewhat dangerous, 'double denim' phenomenon. Denim is an obviously stable item in everyone's wardrobe, whether its jeans, skirt or jacket and it's pretty much a timeless fabric. I think it's so easy to go wrong with a double denim look as you can end up quite dull and bland. However, if there is enough differences inside the similarity, whether that's through shade, texture and fit, this look can be super eye-catching and fashionable.
Honestly, looking back, I wish I'd chosen a darker denim as the top as I do think it looks quite plain. It would even be a good idea to swap the shirt for a denim jacket opened up to have more of the crop revealed, also adding a bit of a different fit, but note you would need to wear high-waisted jeans.
I decided to pair this outfit with my converse to add a bit of street style but then added a bit of sophistication and 'classiness' with the watch. I also decided to chuck my 'glasses' (secret: they are actually just tacky clear glasses that I had when I was twelve) on top of my head to further add to the 'laid back' and 'trendy' style.
OG xx
