paradise: tallebudgera
Tallebudgera. Home to breathtaking sunsets and rises, happy campers, typical tourists and somewhat hippy-like vibes. However, its more; a combination of peacefulness, laughter and memories.
Mornings are the best; four legged best friends run wild on the beach, almost grinning ear to ear, runners fly past, fishermen sit happily: waiting for their rod to move, the art of tai chi is practised and stunning photos are captured. It seems that this place is always picture-perfect. All seems to be moving, in a calm, amicable manner.
In between two cities sits bliss. Waves crash on one side, hitting the rocks and rolling onto the sand. Surfers tackle their destiny and sandcastles are created. Opposite sits the smoothness of the creek, filled with shades of blue and green. Paddle-boards and kayaks are a constant sight, along with sea life contently buzzing around your toes. Yet both contrasts work together, creating an atmosphere of calmness and a place for people to sit and enjoy. It doesn't surprise me so many choose this place as their home.
Over the mountain, sits Burleigh, yet another fascinating part of Tallebudgera. The road to the destination is almost just as good, with jaw-dropping views and hints of wildlife. In the heart of Burleigh sits its culture, taking shape in its various shops and beaches. The natural and simple life is easy to welcome with bountiful fruit shops, juices, acai bowls, mediterranean pockets and bohemian clothing. Sitting, watching the waves and people, one can become mesmerised by the moves of those in another world, they seemed to be encompassing their surroundings. However, slowly the movement increases, the people begin to wake. More runners and walkers, more dogs and more people sitting, soaking up the world around them.
One early morning, I did just this. I sat and watched. The only worry on my mind was when it would all end, when I would have to return home. I wrote: "The sun is beginning rise higher, my cue to walk back and return to a less harmonised world. I will return I tell myself, whether that's alone or accompanied, time will only tell. Here sitting on this rock, words seem to rush through my brain, trying to absorb this incredible place around me. I don't think, I watch, I breathe, I absorb."
Till next time
OG xx
